Resources
For your weather information, we
recommend the following websites listed below. We will add more resources later but these ones should cover most
regions around the world.
Remember that when planning for your trip,
you should consider seasonal weather patterns as they may have an impact on your vacation. For
example, hurricanes occur between July and October and could ruin your Caribbean vacation. Likewise, Asia is also
known to have typhoons associated with strong winds and heavy rain during late summer, early fall.
Winter snow storms will affect all means of transportation for the northern countries. If you are flying, your
flight may be delayed for several hours or simply cancelled for the day. When you travel often, it may not be so
bad, but for those who travel rarely or once every few years, it may mean the difference between a dream vacation
and not a very good one.
So here are our favorite
resources:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/ This one is a very good site for
most major world cities.
http://www.intellicast.com/ Also one the best on the web. Lots of
extras and a 10 day forecast.
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/ If you live in Canada, they are the
reference most people use.
http://www.meteomedia.com/
The French version of the weather network.
http://www.stormpulse.com/
Just an amazing site for severe weather around
the world, with data going back to 1850!
http://www.weather.gov/ For the
marine and aviation weather in North America, although mostly for the USA.
http://www.weatherbase.com/ Curious about the average snowfall in
October in Aspen? Want to know if you'll have good beach weather in March in Crete? Wondering about the average
temperature in October in Perth? You'll find it here.
